Marking 15 years since Sydney Pride expanded into a month-long festival, the 2026 program honours its history while looking to the future, with theatre, art, live music, drag, guest speakers, community events and an official festival launch.

Pride Fest Qtopia is Sydney’s premier month-long queer arts and culture festival, hosted by Qtopia Sydney, the world’s largest centre for LGBTQIA+ history and culture. Held throughout June, it features over 300 events, including theatre, cabaret, drag, comedy, and panel discussions.

Pride Month in North Sydney

North Sydney Council marks Pride Month with its biggest program yet, celebrating LGBTQIA+ visibility, creativity, storytelling and community connection.
Across June, the program includes a free Pride Picnic at Ted Mack Civic Park, the Be Seen: Portraits of Queer North Sydney exhibition, a YA author panel at Stanton Library, creative activities, library programs and rainbow lighting at North Sydney Council Chambers. Whether joining for music and performance, family-friendly activities, queer storytelling or quiet reflection, the program offers a range of ways for LGBTQIA+ people and allies to come together, be seen and feel a sense of belonging.

SQS Sydney Queer Social is the LGBTQ+ social where everyone belongs, taking place this Sydney Pride Festival on Monday 1 June from 6pm at The Rooftop Bar at East Village Hotel Darlinghurst.
There’s no need to arrive on time or come with anyone else — just drop in, catch up with the beautiful queer community and make new connections. Come early for dinner and enjoy 2-for-1 bowls and All Day Every Day meal deals. Guests are encouraged to RSVP, and can also support the SQS Monday raffle, raising funds for SQS to be part of Sydney Mardi Gras in 2027. The raffle is drawn every Monday at 8:30pm, with prizes including vouchers, dinners, drinks and more.

Sweat with Pride

Sweat with Pride is a Pride Month movement challenge raising critical funds for Australia’s rainbow communities.This June, participants are invited to move their way for 21 minutes a day, either solo or as part of a team, while fundraising for community-led services that support LGBTQIA+ mental health, legal assistance, education, advocacy and social inclusion. Walk, wheel, lift, stretch, dance or swim, track your progress with Strava, climb the leaderboard and choose a drag trainer to cheer you on along the way.

Make A Wish Pride Month
2–30 June
Hungry Jack’s Darlinghurst
Hungry Jack’s Darlinghurst is supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation Australia throughout Pride Month, raising funds to help grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children.
From 2–30 June, guests can take part in the Wish Maker Star initiative by purchasing a star, adding their name and having it displayed on the restaurant’s Wall of Wishes. Six star options will be available, with each purchase contributing directly to the fundraiser. Major donors will also receive a personalised certificate in recognition of their support.

Tap Gallery Sketch Club
Mondays, 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 June // 7–10pm
TAP Gallery
Sketch Club at TAP Gallery offers weekly life drawing sessions for aspiring and accomplished artists alike, with equal focus on the male and female form to help regulars develop a well-rounded practice.
Held every Monday night, including public holidays, each three-hour session includes a structured mix of 2, 5, 10 and 20-minute poses, with breaks throughout. Sessions are $25 per person and participants should bring their own drawing equipment. Groups of 10 or more can also hire the gallery on other nights for parties and celebrations, with equipment provided.

Big Gay Boxing
Tuesdays, 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 June
Pride Centre Newtown
Big Gay Boxing is a seriously fun queer workout with iconic playlists, beginner-friendly boxing combinations and plenty of community energy.
Each session rotates through nine rounds of exercise, including partner-based boxing with pads and gloves, plus bodyweight conditioning movements that can be modified to suit your pace. The team will help solo attendees meet someone new to partner with, creating a welcoming space to sweat, socialise and embrace queer joy. Sessions are held at the Inner West Pride Centre at Pride Square, opposite Newtown Station — look for the pink umbrella. Doors open 15 minutes before class.

Stonewall Newtown celebrates Pride Month with Drag Bingo every Tuesday in June, hosted by the amazing Charisma Belle.
Entry is free, with great prizes, a cash jackpot and a charity raffle up for grabs. Get there early for happy hour from 4–7pm, then settle in for a night of bingo, laughs and Pride Month energy in the heart of Newtown.

The SoccerActress

The SoccerActress is an autobiographical one-woman drama-comedy blending character comedy, freestyle soccer and storytelling.
Created and performed by Lucia Mallardi, a former professional soccer player and soccer freestyler, the show transforms the soccer ball into a tool of movement, rhythm and expression. Poetic, physical and emotionally raw, it explores gender politics, queer identity, resilience and the beauty of athleticism as art.

Fruits Parramatta returns for Pride Month, bringing together local LGBTQIA+ professionals and business owners for PBA’s monthly networking event in Western Sydney.
Held in the private and welcoming surrounds of Bar30 Deck at PARKROYAL Parramatta, the evening includes drinks, canapés, happy hour prices all night and door prizes. PBA members receive free entry plus a complimentary drink on arrival, while non-members can attend for $10. The 73rd Sydney Film Festival runs from 3–14 June 2026, with screenings across major Sydney venues and a dedicated selection of LGBTQIA+ films. The official program includes queer features, documentaries, horror, romance and music-focused works from Australia and around the world.
Notable LGBTQIA+ titles include Leviticus, an Australian queer horror screening at the State Theatre and Ritz Randwick; Body Blow, a Sydney-set queer erotic thriller screening at Event Cinemas George Street and Dendy Newtown; The Man I Love, Ira Sachs’ 1980s character study starring Rami Malek; and Give Me the Ball!, a Billie Jean King documentary celebrating women’s sport and LGBTQ visibility.

Sydney Kink Festival returns over the June long weekend for a three-day program celebrating community, curiosity, fetish expression and skill-sharing.
The festival opens on Friday at the Empire Hotel in Annandale with EAT ME, a social munch designed to break the ice and build community connections, before moving into the late-night world of THRESHOLD at Our Secret Spot. On Saturday, the focus shifts to the Rex Centre in Darlinghurst, with markets showcasing local makers, gear and apparel, alongside workshops offering opportunities to learn, connect and explore new disciplines in a welcoming community setting.

For this glitter-soaked celebration of drag, nightlife, performance and queer culture, Two80 Cabaret transforms into a tribute to the underground spirit, glamour and rebellion that made DRAGTRADE legendary. Expect drag royalty, burlesque, cabaret, live vocals, late-night cocktails and fierce Pride energy from start to finish. Dress bold, stay late and celebrate loudly.

The bentArt Prize and Exhibition

The bentART Prize and Exhibition returns to Rex-Livingston Art + Objects Gallery in Katoomba this June, celebrating queer creativity, storytelling and community through visual art.
Presented by bentART, the annual exhibition brings together works by LGBTQIA+ artists and allies, offering a platform for diverse voices, perspectives and creative expression. Entries for the 2026 exhibition have now closed, with audiences invited to visit the gallery and experience another powerful celebration of queer art in the Blue Mountains.

REBOUND lands in Sydney for the June long weekend, bringing vocal house, camp classics, anthems and big party energy to an intimate Oxford Street dance floor.
Join ENN, Joelby and Nate for a winter warm-up made for dancing, singing along and shaking off the cold-weather blues. Taking over TRIBE231 from 8pm until 2am, REBOUND is a late-night Pride Month party with a classic queer club feel and a soundtrack built for the long weekend.

TAP Art Gallery
Painting the Nude at TAP Art Gallery offers guided Friday night art classes featuring a live nude model, with male and female models alternating each week.
Suitable for beginners through to experienced artists, each three-hour session is guided by Lesley Dimmick BFA, OAM, with acrylic paint, canvas and other materials supplied. Participants can bring drinks and nibbles, enjoy the welcoming gallery setting and take their finished artwork home. Bookings and prepayment are essential, with sessions priced at $60 per person.

Expect music from DJ Leow, a drag performance, food, prizes and giveaways, plus plenty of chances to meet new people. The event is ticketed and takes place on the all-weather rooftop.

Born from the Fem Queen history and legacy of ballroom, The Doll House honours the powerful Black and Latinx trans women who shaped the culture, while celebrating the excellence, drama and energy of the Oceania ballroom scene.

Free Self Defence Workshop

This free self-defence workshop offers practical safety tips for LGBTQIA+ participants and allies when out and about.
The session covers prediction and prevention of violence, with topics including defence against weapons, basic strikes, blocks, ground defence and ways to escape. Designed as a practical introduction to personal safety, the workshop provides a supportive space to learn simple techniques and build confidence. Places can be booked by SMS.

BINGAY Pride Anthems brings a night of camp bingo, queer joy and iconic Pride tracks to The Beresford.

Tickets are $25 and include all games, with funds raised supporting ACON Health’s LGBTQ+ programs and services. Sydney Convicts Trivia Night returns for a huge fundraiser supporting the team as they head to the Bingham Cup in Brisbane.
Hosted by Sydney Convicts founder Andrew “Fuzz” Purchas and drag icon Minnie Cooper, the night promises laughs, camaraderie, mind-bending trivia and plenty of prizes. The annual fundraiser also features the club’s legendary auction, helping back the team while bringing the community together for one of the Convicts’ biggest nights of the year.

Wonder Mama’s Pop ART Interactive Cabaret returns to Pride Fest with a bold, colourful show where music, storytelling and live audience art collide.
Joined by Lindsay Partridge on keyboards, Wonder Mama invites the audience to help create the artwork that shapes the performance. Part cabaret, part creative adventure and part interactive art moment, the show blends pop culture, music and playful participation into an immersive Pride Fest experience. Tickets are listed at $25 for adults and $20 concession.

Heaps Gay Group Therapy brings a serotonin session and healing disco to Heaps Normal Health Club for a day-to-night winter party.
Presented by Heaps Gay, the event combines a group workout under the mirror ball with DJs, dancing and queer club energy. Expect favourite instructors and performers including Jim Junkie, Gaffe, Shoop DJ’s, Sharon Manhattan, C&J Music Factory and Mimi, with a dress code of run club meets queer club couture. Tickets are $25 plus fees, with free entry available for queer First Nations community members and no one turned away for lack of funds.

Winter Violet brings Ultra Violet’s beloved sapphic-centred party to City Recital Hall for a special Pride Month edition.
Created by Sveta Gilerman and Jess Hill, also known as DJ Estée Louder, the night takes over three stages with distinct sounds and spaces. Ladyhawke leads the Main Hall with a rare DJ set, joined by Charlie Villas, Keavzs, Alex Dugan and a live performance from DEVAURA. BathHOUSE brings underground house and club sounds, while The Violet Room serves Latin rhythms, funk, soul and disco. Intimate, electric and defiant, Winter Violet welcomes LGBTQIA+ women and allies.

Hey Gay! It’s Saturday celebrates Sydney Pride Festival with the ICONS Private Party, a fancy dress night of comedy, music, DJs and dancing.
Guests are invited to come dressed as a favourite bold or controversial queer, drag, diva, music or pop culture icon, with prizes for best-dressed throughout the night. Modern, fictional or historical, the choice is yours — from activists and artists to musicians, style icons and notorious personalities. Finger food will be served on arrival, with the night running until midnight.

Sydney Pride Festival 2025 — OutStanding Launch

OutStanding launches its short story competition for writers exploring the Australian queer experience.
The winter competition invites stories of 750 words or less, with the annual theme announced at the launch. Run by and for the community, OutStanding is a registered charity supporting participation and excellence in LGBTQIA+ writing, with a first prize of $1,000 and a range of other prizes on offer.

SQS Sydney Queer Social heads to The Beresford for a Pride Month gathering in the courtyard.
Created as an LGBTQ+ social where everyone belongs, SQS is a relaxed way to catch up with the queer community, meet new people and come along solo or with friends. There’s no need to arrive on time — just drop in, connect and enjoy the evening. Guests can also support the SQS Monday raffle, raising funds for SQS to be part of Sydney Mardi Gras in 2027.

Queering the Collection

Queering the Collection explores the State Library of NSW’s ongoing work to better represent LGBTQIA+ communities within its collections.
Presented in connection with Pride Month, the discussion looks at how libraries, curators and archivists uncover untold stories, address historical gaps and reinterpret lives that have been denied, ignored or hidden. Part of a broader series marking the Library’s bicentenary, the event reflects on visibility, inclusion, cultural memory and the work still to come.

Draw a Drag Queen

Draw a Drag Queen is a life drawing workshop with a fabulous Pride Month twist, hosted by The Fabulous Wonder Mama.
Participants will learn how to capture the glamour and charisma of a real Sydney drag queen through art, with guidance from a drag queen host. Designed to be fun, welcoming and beginner-friendly, the workshop uses charcoal and oil pastels to help guests create their own artworks to take home, while celebrating creativity, self-expression and drag artistry.

Fly with Pride – Rainbow wings workshop

Fly with Pride is a colourful family workshop inviting children and their families to design and decorate their own one-of-a-kind set of rainbow wings.
Led by the City of Sydney Library team, the workshop encourages creativity, self-expression and individuality in a safe, welcoming Pride Month setting. All resources are provided, with children able to create wings that are bright, bold, soft, sparkly or entirely their own. The free workshop is suitable for children aged 8 and over, with parents and guardians encouraged to take part. Bookings are essential as places are limited.
