DANNY ABOOD – A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE

KINSELAS, TAYLOR SQUARE, SUNDAY 20 JUNE, 5.00 PM

ADMISSION FREE, BOOKING REQUIRED

(Booking details to be posted shortly)

Danny Abood, who died on Sunday 23 May, was one of the last surviving core members of Sylvia and the Synthetics, a radical drag troupe in the early ‘70s whose influence can still be seen on much of Sydney’s gay culture today. Danny was a drag artist, a fashion icon and a true original – a pathfinder with an enormous talent and a generous, giving spirit.

A celebration of his life will be held at Kinselas, where Danny organised a similar event for his close friend Doris Fish thirty years ago. Many of Danny’s friends will perform and help to farewell Danny in the way he would have wanted – outrageous, joyful and over-the-top!

Drinks will be available for purchase from the bar, with finger food kindly provided by Kinselas.

So come and say goodbye to Danny in a night to remember
