Pride Month: Writing Workshop – Writing Your Own Voice – YA 15yo+
This workshop invites Young Adults who are interested in creative writing to find confidence in their own voices. Local author, Michael Stoneburner comes to chat about their own experiences growing up as a gay writer and how they found the courage to write the stories they wanted to read. Young writers will take part in writing prompts to help inspire and guide hopeful future authors to create healthy writing habits.

Pride Month: Author Talk with Tobias Madden – YA 15yo+
Meet Tobias Madden talking about his debut novel both heartfelt and hilarious, Anything But Fine, along with his next YA rom-com, Take a bow Noah Mitchell set for release in September 2022. In 2019, Tobias edited and published Underdog: #LoveOzYA Short Stories, which featured his first published work, ‘Variation’. Tobias is a passionate member of the #LoveOzYA and LGBTQ+ communities, and he currently works full time for a major independent publishing company.
QBD Books will be selling rainbow related literature including Tobias’ book ‘Anything But Fine’.

This workshop invites LGBTQ+ writers to sit down and have a conversation with local author, Michael Stoneburner as they discuss growing up finding the courage to write in their own voice and create characters that closely represent them. Writers will be invited to take part in a writing prompt, called Story Stones, to inspire positive writing habits and explore self-publication.
